The course is designed for people with knowledge of basic statistics and linear regression models who want to learn more about the analysis of complex correlated data using a linear mixed model approach.

Workshop Description

This course covers techniques that can be used to analyse longitudinal (or repeated measures) data, spatial data, clustered data and data from complex experimental designs.  The courses focuses on recognising data with these structures and identifying appropriate models to fit to the data.

Some basic familiarity with R and linear regression is assumed (either taking ANOVA and Linear Regression in R or similar level of understanding)

Outline

• Day 1: Random and fixed effects, two and three level models for clustered data
• Day 2: Models for repeated measures/longitudinal data, models for clustered longitudinal data
